Pars Today – The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament has reacted to the record-high yield on U.S. Treasury bonds.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, reacted to the record-high yield on U.S. Treasury bonds in a post on his social media account addressed to U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
“Happy 5.1% 10Y America. Mashallah. Celebrate: it’s the floor two years out,” he wrote.
Qalibaf added: “You wanted Iran dragged back to 1970s? Nobody told you Iran isn’t for arrogant amateurs?”
He stressed: “We’ll return you to 1970s rates, plus high gas prices, diesel shortages and bell-bottoms. Enjoy the nostalgia!”
