India-Pakistan tension flares

These pictures depict the consequences of the recent attack on an Indian military base in the city of Uri in the disputed region of Kashmir.

In this offensive, which is one of the main attacks ever staged against the Indian army in the past two decades, at least seventeen Indian troops lost their lives.

According to the Indian army announcement, and based on preliminary investigations, the perpetrators behind this attack have been linked to a militia group in Pakistan, dubbed as “Jaish-e Mohammad”.
