If you remember, we discussed the admission of the Western and Arab media and regimes on their all-out support for the Iraqi dictator Saddam during the 8-year war he had imposed on the Islamic Republic of Iran upon the order of his masters in Washington and then Moscow. Stay tuned for more.

The 1975 Algiers Accord was the agreement that Saddam had signed with Iran’s Shahs before the victory of the Islamic Revolution. The accord settled the existing disputes between Iran and Iraq on the borders and the Arvand River. On September 17, 1980, Saddam tore up the Algiers Accord before the TV cameras and claimed Iraqi full control over the river.

In the final years of the imposed war, Saddam increased the number of forces and multiplied the equipment and arms of the Iraqi army. Through the full support of both Eastern and Western superpowers, the Iraqi dictator gained gigantic amounts of money to reorganize the army and equip it with state-of-the-art weaponry.

If you remember, we discussed Iran’s tough conditions of during the last months of the war and the reasons for accepting UN Security Council Resolution 598 by Imam Khomeini. Today we are going to further elaborate on the issue.

As a reminder, it was said that the United States, in line with its unflinching support for the Iraqi Dictator, Saddam, in the imposed war against Iran, shot down a passenger aircraft of the Islamic Republic over the Persian Gulf and killed all the 290 passengers.
