The 11th of February 1979 was the most important day of the 20th century and one of the most fateful days in the history of mankind. It was the day on which the Islamic Revolution triumphed in Iran under the astute leadership of that Sage of the Age, Imam Khomeini (RA). The Islamic Revolution threw into the dustbin of history the British-installed and American-backed Pahlavi regime and with it ended some 2,500 years of monarchic rule.

The Islamic Revolution has covered 41 years and now entered its 42nd year but the enthusiasm and unity of the people and their presence in the scene reminds us of the initial days of the revolution.

Both ideologies were based on materialism which was an offshoot of the Godless secular developments in Europe of the past two centuries such as the French Revolution in 1789.

As we said, the source of the success of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic is the principle of the leadership of the pious as is evident by the concept of Velayat-e Faqih or Governance of the Supreme Jurisprudent.
