The struggles of the Iranian nation to overthrow the despotic dependent Pahlavi regime underwent many ups and downs to gain victory. However, the arrival of Imam Khomeini (God’s mercy upon him) on February 1, 1979 breathed a new spirit in the soul of the nation and the struggles were seriously accelerated so that within 10 days the Revolution triumphed and the end of the dictatorial rule was officially announced on radio and TV.

The sanctified month of Sha’ban is here with all its blessings for the believers. It has many auspicious anniversaries and the acts of worship in this month, including fasting, takes us to the proximity of God the Gracious, and if that person dies in the state of belief, he/she is ensured of the bliss of paradise.

There is no doubt that the glorious Islamic Revolution of the Iranian people was shaped on the basis of lofty Islamic values and ideals. Therefore, this revolution is a promoter and caller to this values and ideals. These ideals have attracted people of other countries and many of them have decided to follow in the footsteps of the Iranian nation.

Today, the 27th of the month of Rajab is that glorious day, in the pre-dawn hours of which, the One and Only Creator of the entire universe formally entrusted the universal mission for the guidance and salvation of all humanity to His Last and Greatest Messenger, Prophet Mohammad (Blessings of God upon him and his progeny).

The glorious Islamic Revolution of the Iranian people in 1979 has based on the enlightening instructions of Islam. Acquisition and teaching of knowledge have been highly emphasized in Islam. Accordingly, after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, very great progresses have been made both in eradication of illiteracy and higher education.

Heartfelt condolences to all our listeners on a very tragic occasion. Today the 25th of the sacred month of Rajab happens to be anniversary of the martyrdom of the 7th Infallible Imam of the Ahl al-Bayt or Immaculate Household of Prophet Mohammad (blessings of God upon him and his progeny).

Although Iranian people from all strata participated in the struggles leading to the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, the deprived and poor stratum played the main role in materialization of this victory. They were strongly opposed to the policies of the regime and the spread of the decadent western culture which was in pursuit of uprooting of religion and prevalence of promiscuity.

Agriculture is a key section of economy of any country. Yet, it was in a very poor situation before the Islamic Revolution, especially in the last decade of Pahlavi regime's unholy life. This, while the Shah would mendaciously speak of great agricultural reforms in Iran. After the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, however, people and officials prioritized addressing agriculture seriously.

One of the main reasons for occurrence of the Islamic Revolution was the poor economic conditions and deep injustice prevailing in the Iranian society. Most of the oil revenues before the Islamic Revolution were dedicated to the royal family, its near ones and exorbitant military expenses.

No doubt, the Islamic Revolution has been the most popular movement for several centuries. Without widespread presence of people in all scenes of this great uprising it was impossible to overthrow a regime which was thoroughly supported by foreign powers, particularly the US regime.
