Today is the 17th of Rabi al-Awwal, the grand day in the history of mankind, when the Almighty Creator of the universe decided to bring into the world His Last and Greatest Messenger – Prophet Mohammad (blessings of God upon him and his progeny).

Every year, upon the initiative of the Islamic Republic of Iran the International Islamic Unity Conference is held in order to bring Muslim thinkers and researchers together. Enhancement of familiarity, awareness and deepening of comprehension among the followers of the Islamic sects and bolstering of Islamic brotherhood are among the goals of this conference.

The enemies of Islam have tried in the recent years more than ever to create rift among various Islamic sects to prevent them from getting united. Although they have made success temporarily in some junctures, vigilant Islamic world has thwarted the plots of the sworn enemies like the US, Britain, France and above all the fabricated Zionist regime.

The world before the emergence of Islam was apparently a living world but it was dead in essence as it was devoid of any humanity and virtue. Today, the last day of the month of Safar Iran is in a state of grief with a public holiday in commemoration of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Reza (AS), the 8th Infallible Successor of Prophet Mohammad (blessings of God upon him and his progeny).

Heartfelt condolences to you on the day of double of grief, since today the 28th of the month of Safar, the anniversary of the passing away of the Prophet of Islam from the mortal world in 11 AH, also happens to be the day on which 39 years later in 50 AH, his elder grandson, Imam Hasan Mojtaba (AS), was martyred through a fatal dose of poison.

Today is the 20th of the lunar month of Safar or Arba’een, the traditional 40th day following the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH), when our grief becomes fresh for the world’s most heartrending tragedy.

Recently, the 86th flotilla of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy circumnavigated the globe, returning home to Iranian waters after eight months.

The 1st of the month of Safar refreshes memories of the immortal saga of the noble captives of the heartrending tragedy of Karbala, who despite being in chains and fetters made Islam and all humanitarian values triumph in the court of the tyrant Yazid, thus bequeathing to posterity faith in Divine Promise of the eventual victory of truth over falsehood, irrespective of the intensity of the plots and crimes of the oppressors.
