Pres. Pezeshkian: Iran-Azerbaijan relations are based on deep friendships

The president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, referring to the long-standing history and cultural, historical, and ideological commonalities between the people of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, stated that the two countries are inseparable parts of the same body. He emphasized that the people on both sides of the border have extensive mutual interests, which are grounded in deep-rooted interests and friendships spanning thousands of years.

Referring to the resolution of some misunderstandings and problems in relations between Tehran and Baku, Masoud Pezeshkian added: "The fields and capacities of interactions between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan and the two nations are very broad, deep and diverse, and with the continuation of the current process of restoring relations between them, we will witness the flourishing of these capacities and a rapid and serious improvement in the level of relations and cooperation in a short time."  The president of Iran expressed hope that, given the consultations that have taken place, the process of deepening relations and expanding cooperation between the two countries will significantly be facilitated and accelerated./ IRNA
