UN expresses sympathy with Iranian nation & gov't following Bandar Abbas explosion

Pars Today - The United Nations expressed its sympathy and condolences to the people and government of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Saturday night local time, following the explosion at the Shahid Rajaei Port in Bandar Abbas, southern Iran.

The Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric said: "We are deeply saddened to learn of the large number of casualties from the explosion in Shahid Rajaee Port. We express our condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims, the people and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured." The explosion occurred on Saturday April 26 in Shahid Rajaee Port in Bandar Abbas, and has so far left 14 people dead and 750 others injured./ IRNA
