  • UN high commissioner commends Iran’s services to refugees

Pars Today - The United Nations high commissioner for refugees appreciated the services of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the fields of health, education, and employment of refugees.

Filippo Grandi, during a meeting with Iran’s Minister of Health Mohammad Reza Zafarghandi on the sidelines of the 78th annual World Health Assembly in Geneva, said: “These valuable services by Iran, despite sanctions and economic challenges, are greatly appreciated.” For his part, Zafarghandi emphasized that safeguarding refugees' health is a global responsibility and should not be borne by host countries alone. He called for the development and enhancement of appropriate financial and operational mechanisms at the international level for host countries, especially Iran. (IRNA)
