Iran proposes BRICS Charter to confront illegal and unilateral sanctions
Pars Today – On Wednesday evening, the speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran called for the formation of a united front among BRICS member states to counter the damaging impact of unilateral sanctions on economic justice and the livelihoods of nations.
In his address at the "11th BRICS Parliamentary Forum" held under the theme "Parliamentary Action for BRICS in Search of New Paths to Economic Development," Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned of the destructive consequences of unilateral sanctions and stressed the need for coordinated action.
Ghalibaf stated "Today we are facing a complex set of transformations, unprecedented challenges, and fundamental shifts in the global order — from severe economic fluctuations and financial instability to environmental crises." Iran's Parliament speaker added "In such a context, multilateral institutions like BRICS play an increasingly important role in reinventing equitable and collaborative cooperation models." / IRIB news agency
