UNRWA: Gazans search for food under heavy shelling

Pars Today – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has shared a survivor’s account of an Israeli shooting at a humanitarian aid distribution center in southern Gaza, stating that hungry civilians are forced to risk their lives under intense shelling in search of food.

In a post on X, UNRWA said: “Starving people in the Gaza Strip are risking their lives under heavy bombardment to try to get food for their families.”

The agency republished the story of one of the survivors who went to the aid distribution center in the Rafah area in the southern Gaza Strip, quoting him as saying: "We set off towards the aid distribution center in the morning and we were rolling and crawling on the ground for more than an hour. When the shooting stopped, people started running, but the shooting started again and many were injured while running." / IRNA
