Belgian king: Gaza situation is “a stain on humanity”
Pars Today – King Philippe of Belgium has sharply criticized the ongoing crisis in Gaza, describing the current situation as having gone on for far too long and calling it “a stain on humanity.”
The Belgian monarch urged the European Union to play a more constructive role in managing what he called a humanitarian catastrophe and said Europe “must show better leadership” in addressing the Gaza crisis.
He made these remarks on Sunday night ahead of Belgium’s National Day holidays.
King Philippe also voiced Belgium’s support for the call by UN Secretary-General António Guterres to bring about “an immediate end to the unbearable crisis in Gaza.”
Recently, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, in a phone call with Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib, criticized the irresponsible stance of some European countries in supporting Israel’s aggressive actions.
He warned that such behavior encourages the normalization of lawlessness and escalates insecurity both regionally and globally.
