Senior Hamas member: Benjamin Netanyahu is solely responsible for failure of negotiations

Pars Today – Mahmoud Mardawi, a senior official of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), stressed that negotiations are the only way to reach an agreement, but Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to take actions that repeatedly derail the path of serious talks, persisting in deception and evading firm commitments in the negotiations.

Mardawi said: “It appears that Netanyahu, due to opposition from the right-wing faction in his cabinet, is unable to advance any agreement that would be acceptable to both sides. Therefore, he continues the policy of deception and hiding behind lies.”

Hamas had earlier stated in a communiqué that the Israeli prime minister has turned sabotaging various rounds of negotiations into his pastime. The new round of Gaza ceasefire talks resumed on Sunday, July 6. /IRNA
