Arbaeen walk for those who could not attend held in various cities across Pakistan
Pars Today – On Friday, coinciding with Arbaeen of Imam Hussain (pbuh), the Arbaeen walk for those unable to attend was held in several cities across Pakistan, including Skardu, Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Lahore, with large numbers of mourners participating.
Every year, hundreds of thousands of Pakistani pilgrims travel to Iraq to participate in the Arbaeen march. This year, however, due to restrictions such as the ban on overland travel, fewer pilgrims were able to reach Karbala. In Pakistan, millions still observed the spiritual walking ritual locally.
During this year’s ceremonies, the walking routes in various cities were placed under tight security, with police and emergency personnel stationed along the paths. Streets and designated routes were filled with mourning processions, noha recitations, and supply stations offering refreshments to participants.
The event, symbolizing religious solidarity and commemorating the events of Ashura, once again showcased the participation of Shia Muslims and, in some areas, Sunni Muslims, reflecting mutual respect and collective devotion to Imam Hussain (AS) across Pakistan.
