Pars Today – Speaking at an extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Iran’s Foreign Minister reminded his counterparts that the people of Gaza are waiting for meaningful support. He emphasized that their resilience calls on us to stand with them not only in words but also through decisive action.

The extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was held on Monday, August 25, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. At the meeting, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, condemned the actions of the Israeli regime in Gaza, describing them as “collective punishment with signs of genocide.”

Citing the Fourth Geneva Convention, Araghchi stated that Israel’s actions — including targeting civilians, destroying homes, and forcibly displacing populations — constitute war crimes. He also called on Islamic countries to employ all political, diplomatic, and economic tools to pressure the Israeli regime.

The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasizing that appeasement of Israel has yielded no results, stated: “Accountability must be pursued at all levels, in every court, against all those involved in or enabling war crimes and genocide in Palestine. All relations with the killers of our sisters and brothers in Gaza — who today nurture the absurd dream of a ‘Greater Israel’ — must be immediately severed.”

On the sidelines of the meeting, Araghchi held discussions with the foreign ministers of Iraq, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and other counterparts.
