The Iranian National Volleyball Team has wrapped up the 2nd week of their 2019 Nations League Campaign with a comfortable win over Pool 7 hosts Japan in straight sets.

According to Press TV, the Iranian National Volleyball Team (Team Melli), who had been forced to make some changes in their line-up due to injuries, took almost no time to get going in Tokyo, claiming the first set 25-22. The Iranians stepped up their game in the 2nd set, taking it 25-21. There were less nerves and greater confidence for Iran in the 3rd as they eased to a 25-19 win to close out the match with no fuss Whatsoever, avenging last year’s defeat to the Japanese.

Milad Ebadipour hammered out 14 points towards Iran’s victory, while Yuki Ishikawa led the scoring for Japan with the same tally. After 6 games, Iran currently stand 2nd in the table with just the 1 defeat against Brazil. The Top 5 teams plus the hosts team USA will qualify for the final round to be held in Chicago.
