FM to embark on five-state Latin American tour

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will make a five-leg official visit to Latin America next week following the implementation of the nuclear agreement between Iran and the 5+1 group of countries.

According to the reports, heading a high-ranking politico-economic delegation, Zarif will kick off his six-day tour of Brazil, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Venezuela and Cuba on May 8, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari said on Saturday.

He added that the Iranian foreign minister plans to hold talks with officials of the five Latin American countries about ways to strengthen political and economic relations.

Jaberi Ansari said Iran seeks to enhance balanced ties with world countries, adding that Zarif’s visit to Latin America is aimed at boosting Iran’s relations with nations in this region.
