Iran’s president confident of closer cooperation with Croatia
In a congratulatory message on Croatia’s Statehood Day, President Hassan Rouhani expressed confidence that the relations between Tehran and Zagreb will grow in various fields.
According to Tasnim news agency, President Rouhani on Sunday sent a message for his Croatian counterpart Zoran Milanovic, congratulating the European country’s government and nation on the Statehood Day.
“Although the coronavirus pandemic and the consequent problems have extremely limited the opportunities for meetings and renewal of friendship over the past year, I am confident that we will witness the promotion and deepening of cooperation between the two countries in all arenas with the improvement of situation and joint efforts,” President Rouhani added.
He also wished the Croatian president and people health, success and prosperity.
Celebrated on May 30, the Statehood Day marks the 31st anniversary of the inauguration of Croatia's first democratic and multi-party parliament. In 1990, after decades of communist rule, the foundations of the modern Croatian parliament , the Sabor, were created and its historic role in the preservation of Croatian statehood was confirmed.
