  • Iran eyes regional security under collective cooperation

Iran's President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi hoped for the promotion of security and stability in the region in light of cooperation among the regional states.

According to Tasnim news agency, in a Wednesday message for his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President Raeisi congratulated the Republic of Uzbekistan on the Independence Day, a national holiday celebrated in the Central Asian nation on September 1.

In the message, the president expressed hope that the deep-rooted and strong bonds between the Iranian and Uzbek nations as well as the firm resolve of their officials would result in closer interaction between the two Muslim countries.

President Raeisi also hoped that close cooperation among the regional countries and the complete settlement of the threats and problems would help promote regional stability, welfare and security.

President Raeisi, who took office last month, has emphasized that the main priority in his administration’s foreign policy agenda is maintaining close and friendly relations with the regional and neighboring countries.
