Iran resolved to cement ties with Armenia: FM

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian expressed the country’s determination to broaden relations with Armenia in various fields.

According to Tasnim news agency, in a message to his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan on Sunday, the Iranian foreign minister offered congratulations on the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Iran was one of the first countries to recognize Armenia’s independence, Amirabdollahian noted, highlighting Tehran’s resolve to promote mutual and regional cooperation with Yerevan.

After a meeting in Tehran in October 2021, the foreign ministers of Iran and Armenia unveiled plans for a new road map leading to the expansion of relations at the “strategic level”.
