Pars Today- The president of the Islamic Republic of Iran said strengthening mutual trust and expanding bilateral cooperation were essential during a meeting with the Armenian prime minister.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and stressed the need to expand bilateral cooperation, strengthen mutual trust and develop relations between the two countries in all areas.

During the meeting, held on the sidelines of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit and the Caspian Sea environmental summit in Turkmenistan, Pezeshkian pointed to the extensive potential for cooperation between Iran and Armenia.

“There are many areas in which the two countries can cooperate, and we hope bilateral relations will expand further in all fields,” he said.

Highlighting the two countries’ shared border and the need to strengthen their mutual engagement, Pezeshkian said Iran and Armenia, as neighboring countries, should be able to interact and cooperate across various fields.

He also emphasized the importance of coordination, mutual support and maintaining communication between the two countries, noting that greater coordination and cooperation would further strengthen mutual trust, deepen mutual understanding and consolidate bilateral relations.

Pezeshkian went on to stress the need to maintain stability and continuity in bilateral ties and expressed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s readiness to expand cooperation with Armenia in various fields.
