Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kan’ani has expressed his sympathy with the Algerian government and people over the losses caused by massive wildfires in the North African country.

He offered condolences to the Algerian government and nation, especially the families of the victims of the tragic incident, and wished recovery for the injured.

Wildfires raging across Algeria have killed 25 people, including 10 soldiers trying to get the flames under control, in the face of high winds and scorching summer temperatures, Algerian government ministries said on Monday.

At least 1,500 people were evacuated, the Interior Ministry said, without providing details.
