Naval mine stops second rogue super tanker in Strait of Hormuz
According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, the IRGC Navy’s public relations office announced that early Saturday, a second rogue supertanker caught fire in a massive blaze after hitting a naval mine in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the report, the supertanker was carrying more than two million barrels of crude oil. After being deceived by the invading US military, the vessel attempted to pass through an unauthorized route in the Strait of Hormuz with all its positioning and radar systems switched off. After striking the mine, a massive explosion occurred in the vessel’s engine room, bringing the rogue ship to a halt.
The IRGC Navy’s public relations office had also announced early Saturday that a rogue supertanker carrying more than two million barrels of crude oil had suffered an incident resulting in a powerful explosion and fire after striking a mine while attempting to pass through an unauthorized route in the Strait of Hormuz.
