Iran: US, allies major obstacles in stopping Israeli crimes in Gaza

Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian says the United States and some of its allies are the main obstacles on the way of efforts to stop the massacre of Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

According to Press TV, addressing the Tehran International Conference on Palestine on Saturday, Amir-Abdollahian censured the United Nations Security Council for failing to take an effective measure to end Israel’s hostilities in the Occupied Territories.

He said the participants in the Tehran conference share the ultimate goal of ending the brutality of the “fake, apartheid and occupying” Israeli regime.

Amir-Abdollahian said the UN Security Council has adopted a resolution for increased humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, but it has so far failed to take any effective measure to stop the crimes of Israel.

The Iranian minister urged all independent governments to pull out all the stops in support of Palestine.

On Friday, the Security Council passed a resolution on the Israeli onslaught on Gaza, demanding ramped-up aid deliveries to the besieged region but stopping short of calling for an immediate halt to the genocide taking place there.

It also called for the creation of “conditions for a sustainable cessation of hostilities.”

Israel has massacred more than 20,200 people, mostly women and children, in Gaza since October 7.

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas conducted the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity on that October day in response to the regime’s never-ending atrocities against the Palestinians.

The United States has fully supported Israel in terms of weapons and munitions since the onset of hostilities.
