  • Imam Khamenei stressing responsibility of prominent figures: Prophet's greatest lesson for us is to establish Islamic Ummah

Pars Today- Imam Khamenei, stressing the role of the prominent figures in formation of the Islamic Ummah and unity of the Islamic world, said, "Through formation of the Islamic Ummah, Muslims, with their internal power, can remove the cancerous and wicked tumor of the Zionist regime from Palestine and, also, destroy the bullying influence, hegemony and interference of the US in the region."

Concurrent with the birth anniversary of the Prophet of Islam and Imam Sadeq (Peace upon them), the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said to a group of the meeting Iranian officials, ambassadors of the Islamic countries, participants of the Unity Conference and people from different walks of life, that the method of invitation of prophets was different in various junctures in time.

The Leader, stressing that the head and leader of the great caravan of mankind in history was the noble Prophet of Islam, said, "The Prophet of Islam has brought a perfect, comprehensive and all-encompassing lesson for life, which among the greatest lessons of the Prophet for us, is the building of Ummah and formation of the Islamic Ummah."

According to Pars Today, Ayatollah Khamenei considered the 13 years of struggles of the grand Prophet in Mecca and the hardships, hunger, and sacrifices of that period and the migration after it as the move to set the ground for establishing the Islamic Ummah.

He added, "Today, the Islamic countries are high in number and nearly 2 billion Muslims live in the world, but this community cannot be called as "ummah" because an ummah is a complex which moves towards a goal with coordination and motive. But, today Muslims are discorded."

Imam Khamenei said that the result of discord among Muslims is the dominance of enemies of Islam and the feeling of need for some of the Islamic countries to the American supports. He went on to say,

"If Muslims were not discorded, they could form a monolithic complex, with the support and usage of each other's facilities, which would be more powerful than all big powers and they would no more need to rely on the US."

Enumerating the factors affecting the formation of the Islamic Ummah, he added,

"The Islamic countries can be effective in this field, but their motive is not strong and this is the duty of the prominent figures of the Islamic world, that is, the politicians, scholars, scientists, academics, influential and thoughtful classes, poets, writers and political and social analysts to create this motive among the statesmen."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, then referred to the explicit and shameless crimes of Zionists in Gaza, West Bank, Lebanon and Syria, and said,

"The victims of Israeli crimes are not the fighters, but the people, and as they have failed to deal a blow to the fighters, they wreak their ignorant and wicked wrath on newborns, children and patients in hospitals."

Imam Khamenei described the failure of the Islamic community to use its internal power as the cause of this catastrophic situation, and repeating his emphasis on the need for complete cutting of economic ties of the Islamic countries with the Zionist regime, added, "The Islamic countries must completely weaken political relations with the Zionist regime, too, and strengthen political and media attacks and clearly show that they are beside the Palestinian nation."
