UN chief reacts to American attack on Iran's nuclear facilities
Pars Today- The United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, announced after the US aggressive attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, "I am deeply concerned about using force by the US against Iran. This is a dangerous escalation of tension in the region which is on the precipice; a direct threat to international peace and security."
According to Pars Today, Guterres, without condemning the US attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, said in a statement, "There is an increasing danger that this clash will soon get out of control and bring about catastrophic consequences for civilians in the region and the world."
The UN chief added, "I ask all member states to prevent escalation of tension and act according to their obligations under the UN Charter and other international rules. It is very important to prevent chaos in this dangerous juncture."
Without even verbally mentioning of US' military attack on Iran, Guterres stressed, "There is no military solution. Diplomacy is the only way ahead. Peace is the only hope."
