Pars Today – The Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations, recalling attacks by the Israeli regime and the United States on Iran and its nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, stated: “The international community must unequivocally condemn these actions and demand accountability from those who violate international law.”

Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency, reported that Amir Saeed Iravani, Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, expressed concern at the UN General Assembly over recent reckless attacks by the Israeli regime and the United States against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

He stated that these facilities, which operate under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency and solely for peaceful purposes in accordance with Article IV of the Non-Proliferation Treaty, were deliberately targeted — an act that constitutes a clear violation of international law, including the principles of the UN Charter.

Iravani emphasized that such actions represent a direct assault on the foundations of multilateralism, undermine trust in disarmament and non-proliferation regimes, and pose a serious threat to international peace and security.

Iravani emphasized: “Therefore, the international community must unequivocally condemn these actions, demand accountability from violators of international law, and strengthen legal protections for nuclear facilities. This is necessary to make the inviolability of peaceful nuclear sites a clear and unassailable norm, and to demonstrate to perpetrators that they can never enjoy immunity for such blatant violations.”

Iravani noted: “By attacking safeguarded nuclear facilities, the perpetrators not only violate the inalienable rights of an independent state under Article IV, but also undermine the credibility of the Non-Proliferation Treaty and the trust that forms its foundation. If peaceful nuclear facilities cannot be considered protected from threats or the use of force, what meaning remains for the assurances promised by the treaty?”
