Pars Today – Iran’s Foreign Minister met with the EU Foreign Policy Chief to discuss issues related to the “snapback” mechanism, emphasizing that Iran remains serious and steadfast in its position

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, met with EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaya Kallas on Thursday evening in Doha, Qatar. According to Pars Today, the discussions focused on recent developments regarding Iran’s nuclear program, particularly in response to the irresponsible and unjustified move by three European countries—Britain, France, and Germany—to reinstate previously lifted UN Security Council resolutions, as well as Iran’s ongoing engagement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

According to a statement from Iran’s Foreign Ministry, the Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized the illegality and unjustified nature of the actions taken by three European countries in this regard. He also reminded the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs of their important role as the “Coordinator of the Joint Commission of the JCPOA,” stressing that this body is expected to fulfill its duties under the JCPOA and UN Security Council Resolution 2231, including countering moves that undermine diplomacy.

Araghchi further highlighted Iran’s continued commitment to diplomacy, reaffirming that Tehran remains serious and steadfast in its position.

The EU Foreign Policy Chief emphasized in this meeting that diplomacy and negotiation remain the only way to address all parties’ concerns and highlighted the need to provide additional space for diplomatic efforts. Both sides agreed to continue consultations in the coming days and weeks.
