Pars Today – Iran’s foreign minister and Pakistan’s prime minister discussed and exchanged views on various issues.

According to Pars Today, quoting IRIB News Agency, Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi met and held talks with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

In this meeting, which was also attended by Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries in various fields, as well as regional and international developments.

The Pakistani prime minister, referring to the determination and will of the high-ranking officials of both countries to continue the process of steadily enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation—as well as coordination and collaboration at the multilateral level and within international organizations—expressed confidence that this process will vigorously continue in the direction of the common interests of the two neighboring and Muslim countries.

Iran’s foreign minister also referred to the commitment of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and President Pezeshkian to comprehensively expand relations with neighboring countries—especially Islamabad—and emphasized Pakistan’s special position in Iran’s foreign policy and relations, as well as Iran’s determination to further develop ties between the two countries.

Araghchi thanked senior Pakistani officials for their serious efforts to end the war imposed on Iran by the United States and the Zionist regime, to establish a ceasefire, and for their good hosting of the negotiations. He also explained Tehran’s principled positions regarding the latest developments related to the ceasefire and the complete end of the imposed war against Iran.

He further referred to the continued crimes of the Zionist regime in occupied Palestine and the regime’s repeated violations of Lebanon’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty, and expressed appreciation for the positions of the Pakistani government and people in supporting and showing solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian nation, as well as Pakistan’s special efforts to implement the ceasefire agreement concerning Lebanon.

Araghchi also met and held talks on Saturday with Field Marshal Asim Munir, the Commander of the Pakistan Army.
