Funeral Prayers held for Martyr Imam Khamenei

Pars Today – Grand Ayatollah Ja'far Sobhani, joined by large crowds of Iranians at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla, led the funeral prayers for the martyred Lader, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and members of his family.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, the funeral prayer was performed three times. The first prayer was offered for the martyred Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. The second was for Martyr Seyyedeh Boshra Hosseini Khamenei, Martyr Mesbah al-Hoda Bagheri Kani, and Martyr Zahra Haddad Adel. The third prayers was offered for Zahra Mohammadi Golpayegani, the martyred Leader’s granddaughter.

The farewell ceremony for Iran’s martyred Leader and his family, who were martyred in a U.S.-Israeli attack on March 9, 2026, began in the early hours of Saturday, July 4, at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla. The event has drawn large crowds from across the country and, according to the report, serves as both a final farewell and a renewed expression of commitment to the ideals of the Islamic Revolution, Islam, and the country's fallen figures.

The farewell ceremony for the bodies of Ayatollah Khamenei, Dr. Mesbah al-Hoda Bagheri Kani, Seyyedeh Boshra Khamenei, Zahra Haddad Adel, and Zahra Mohammadi Golpayegani will continue at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla through Sunday afternoon. The funeral procession in Tehran is scheduled for Monday, July 6.

Further funeral processions are scheduled to take place in the holy city of Qom on Tuesday, July 7, and in Mashhad on Thursday, July 9, where the burial is planned at the shrine of Imam Reza (pbuh). A special farewell and funeral ceremony is also scheduled for Wednesday, July 8, in the Iraqi cities of Najaf and Karbala.
