Funeral procession for sacred body of martyred Leader begins

ParsToday – The sacred funeral procession for Iran's martyred leader and his family has begun in Tehran, with millions of mourners in attendance.

According to ParsToday, citing IRNA, the sacred remains of the martyred leader, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the martyred Seyyedeh Boshrā Hosseini Khamenei, the martyred Misbāh al-Hudā Bāqeri, the martyred Zahra Haddad Adel, and the martyred Zahra Mohammadi Golpayegani are currently being carried in a funeral procession through Tehran, accompanied by grieving crowds.

The funeral ceremony for the martyred leader of the Revolution and his family is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 7, in the holy city of Qom, and will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, in Mashhad, where they will be laid to rest in the sacred shrine of Imam Reza (PBUH).

Additionally, special farewell and funeral ceremonies will be held on Wednesday, July 8, in the cities of Najaf and Karbala.

Yesterday (Sunday, July 5), Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani performed the funeral prayer over the sacred remains of the martyred leader, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei (may his pure soul be sanctified), and his family at the Imam Khomeini (God bless his soul) Mosalla.
