Pars Today – Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for International and Legal Affairs said the U.S. attack on targets in southern Iran constitutes a serious violation of Clauses 1 and 2 of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, stressing that Iran will take decisive measures to safeguard its national interests and security.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, Kazem Gharibabadi wrote in a social media post early Wednesday in response to the U.S. strikes:

"The United States' decision to revoke the sanctions waiver for the sale of Iranian oil constitutes a blatant violation of Clause 10 of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. Its subsequent military operations against Iran also constitute serious violations of Clauses 1 and 2 of the memorandum."

Gharibabadi added that over the past three weeks, the United States had also repeatedly violated Clauses 1 and 2 of the memorandum through Israel's actions in Lebanon and threatening statements directed at Iran.

He warned of the consequences of Washington's breach of the agreement and emphasized that Iran would take decisive measures to protect its national interests and national security.
