Iran-Iraq to expand scientific, research, and cultural cooperation

Pars Today – Iran’s Minister of Science, Research and Technology met with the head of Iraq’s Bayt al-Hikma in Baghdad to discuss ways to expand scientific, academic, research, and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, Hossein Simayi Sarraf met with Naim al-Aboudi, head of Iraq’s Bayt al-Hikma, to discuss mechanisms for strengthening scientific, university, research, and cultural collaboration between Iran and Iraq.

During the meeting, al-Aboudi emphasized Bayt al-Hikma’s commitment to expanding cooperation with universities and scientific and research institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He identified the exchange of scientific expertise, the joint publication of research works, the organization of conferences and academic meetings, and making use of the capabilities of researchers from both countries as key areas for future cooperation.

Simayi Sarraf, for his part, expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by Iraqi officials and described Bayt al-Hikma’s role in strengthening scientific and cultural ties between Iran and Iraq as valuable. He said that the joint scientific and cultural programs and activities held in recent years have provided a suitable opportunity for professors, researchers, and scholars from both countries to interact and exchange views on various scientific and research fields.

The two sides also stressed the importance of maintaining close contacts, expanding cooperation among Iranian and Iraqi universities, research centers, and think tanks, and planning joint scientific and cultural activities aimed at addressing the region’s intellectual, cultural, and scientific challenges.
