Pars Today – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that investing in emerging technologies would reduce the country’s dependence on oil and gas and prevent its adversaries from effectively imposing sanctions on Iran.

According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, Pezeshkian made the remarks on Sunday at a ceremony marking the 46th anniversary of the establishment of the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR). He paid tribute to the late Imam Khomeini, the martyred Leader of the Revolution (God bless their souls), the victims of the war, and all those who lost their lives in defense of Iran’s dignity and security, including Ali Larijani, saying that they had sacrificed their lives for the advancement and greatness of Iran.

The Iranian president referred to the enemy’s malicious plans to assassinate scientists and prominent figures and target Iran’s scientific and research centers. He said the enemy knows whom it is targeting, adding that those assassinated are people who help resolve society’s problems and challenges rather than those consumed by self-interest and egotism. He said Iran’s scientific centers are being targeted because its adversaries oppose the country’s capabilities.

Pezeshkian stressed that greater unity and cohesion are needed to preserve Iran, saying that the country must move forward within the framework of the policies set by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and work to pave the way for national growth and development.

He added that efforts must be made to remove the war and its shadow from the country, because under such circumstances, it is impossible to focus on Iran’s growth and development.

At the end of the ceremony marking the 46th anniversary of ACECR, the president presented the National University Jihad Award to the family of the late Ali Larijani.
