Pars Today — The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament said that just as Iran and Iraq brought the US to its knees and made it taste the bitter defeat of the Ramadan War, the two countries will continue to stand against arrogance, and this path will continue.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, speaking on Friday on the third day of an Iranian parliamentary delegation’s visit to Iraq, said after visiting Wadi al-Salam Cemetery in Najaf and paying tribute to Iraqi resistance martyrs:

“Let the United States and Israel know that the unity of the Islamic Ummah, particularly between the Iranian and Iraqi nations, can never be broken. This bond stems from divine traditions and the Holy Quran, love for and adherence to the Ahl al-Bayt, the culture of martyrdom and Ashura, and the school of Imam Ali (pbuh).”

He stressed: “When the Iranian and Iraqi fighters needed each other, they stood side by side, just as they did during the US and Israeli conspiracy involving Daesh. During the recent war of aggression as well, the Iraqi people rose up in the Ramadan War. The symbol of this struggle is the blood of the martyred Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and the beloved martyr Qassem Soleimani, whose blood was shed together on this land.”

The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament said: “Iraq and Iran will stand against arrogance, and just as they brought the United States to its knees in the Ramadan War and made it taste the bitter taste of defeat, this path will continue.”

He added: “Today, we fully recognize that the Resistance Front against the Zionist regime is more alive and more active on the ground than ever before. We are the ones who, alongside the Imam and the martyrs, are advancing the path of divine traditions through brotherhood and solidarity, together with every nation, the religious authorities, and the Leader of the Revolution.”

On Wednesday, upon arriving at Baghdad airport with the Iranian parliamentary delegation, Ghalibaf visited the site where General Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were martyred and paid tribute to them.

Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, commander of the IRGC Quds Force, was martyred on January 3, 2020, while visiting Iraq at the official invitation of Iraqi authorities. He was assassinated in a US airstrike near Baghdad International Airport, along with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy head of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), and eight others accompanying them.
