Maj. Gen. Rezaei: U.S. will have no place in region’s future

Pars Today – The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said that the countries of the region will decide their own future and that the United States will have no place in the region’s future.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, met with Faiq Zidan, President of Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council. Referring to the historical and cultural ties between Iran and Iraq, Rezaei emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran wants to see an independent and strong Iraq.

Emphasizing that the United States will have no place in the region’s future, he said: “The countries of the region will decide their own future.”

The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council also stressed the need to resolve the status of anti-Iran groups based along the border between the two countries.

For his part, Faiq Zidan referred to the historical and cultural ties between Iran and Iraq and expressed appreciation for the Islamic Republic of Iran’s support.

The President of Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council also emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and stressed the need to ensure security along the shared border between the two countries.
