Araghchi: Movement to avenge martyred Leader’s blood to continue

Pars Today – Iran’s Foreign Minister said at a meeting with guests attending the International Islamic Unity Conference that the martyred Leader of the Revolution deserved martyrdom after 70 years of selfless struggle, but stressed: “We will neither forgive nor forget, and the movement to avenge his blood will certainly continue.”

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, speaking at a meeting with guests of the 40th International Islamic Unity Conference, emphasized that the martyrdom of the Leader of the Revolution after 70 years of selfless struggle had launched a new movement of seeking retribution and resistance.

He said: “Just as the movement to avenge the blood of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) has continued for more than 1,400 years, the movement to avenge the blood of the martyred Leader will also continue. The Iranian people will stand against any aggression, excessive demands and pressure from their enemies, relying on their independence, domestic capabilities and preserving their dignity.”

Referring to the consequences of the recent war for the countries of the region, Iran’s Foreign Minister said one of the most important outcomes of the war was that regional countries realized that U.S. bases inside their territories had failed to provide them with security. They also came to understand that the United States is primarily seeking to support the Zionist regime, rather than defend them.

Araghchi stressed: “What the United States and the Zionist regime did was an illegitimate act of aggression, while what the Islamic Republic of Iran did was legitimate self-defense, and Iran had the right to defend itself.”

He continued: “The countries of the region realized that they cannot tie their security to the United States. That is why today we are witnessing efforts by these countries to form alliances and cooperate with one another. This shows that many of them have lost hope in the United States.

Referring to the impact of sanctions, Araghchi said: “Economic pressure comes at a cost for the country, but the Islamic Republic of Iran will not sell itself because of such pressure. Just as we stood up to U.S. sanctions during the Obama administration, we will resist the new sanctions as well. We have seen Obama and Trump, and we have witnessed the arrogant nature and American mentality in all of them.

Emphasizing Iran’s approach to expanding relations with Islamic countries, he said: “We seek good relations with all Islamic countries, particularly neighboring countries, and in this regard, we are pursuing the expansion of economic ties with Islamic countries.”
