IRGC spokesman: We will change geography of war if Iran is attacked

Pars Today – The spokesman for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that if Iran comes under attack, “we will change the geography of the war” and unveil weapons that will astonish the world.

According to Pars Today, Brigadier General Mohsen Mohebbi, the IRGC spokesman, said in an exclusive interview with Al-Alam news network on Monday that the IRGC’s assessment of the war with the United States, the Zionist regime and their allies is that the US has been defeated in this war, and that its defeat is historic and humiliating, but it does not have the courage to acknowledge or accept it.

Referring to admissions by military and political experts of the US defeat, Mohebbi noted that the defeat of the United States and the Zionist regime is one that all military and political experts, even those in the US itself, acknowledge and can clearly see, touch and feel with the slightest attention.

Brigadier General Mohebbi said one of the areas in which the US has suffered defeat is its failure to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Despite having the world’s largest navy and defining the reason for its presence in the region and the world as ensuring the security of energy flows and freedom of navigation, he said, the war showed that the US was unable to reopen the Strait, despite bringing all its capabilities into action, and that this constitutes a major defeat.

The IRGC spokesman, referring to the US defeat in the area of military bases in the region, added that over the course of decades, the United States established numerous bases in the Persian Gulf littoral states and in countries to Iran’s east and west, ostensibly to preserve the security of the region and enable it to exert its dominance there.

“But what happened was that all these US bases came under attack by Iranian missiles and drones, and the US defeat here was that all the investment it had made to provide security turned into the opposite of security. Therefore, not only was it unable to provide security, but it also became a source of insecurity. This is a very major defeat,” Brigadier General Mohebbi said.

He stressed that another area of US defeat was in the intelligence domain. “The picture had been created that the US had an inaccessible, technologically advanced intelligence system, and everyone believed that these intelligence centers, hidden from the view of rivals and using the latest technologies, were inaccessible. But when US intelligence centers both in the Persian Gulf region and in northern Iraq were hit by Iranian missiles, it became clear that they were not inaccessible.”

Referring to the US defeat in the field of military technology, he added that it had been assumed that the United States possessed highly advanced technology in offensive and defensive weapons and, in general, in its defense doctrine, and that this technology was unattainable. “This war showed that all these advanced US technologies paled in the face of the Islamic Republic’s offensive and defensive capabilities, and all of this led to the conclusion that this technology is not unattainable.”

The IRGC spokesman, referring to the defeat of US hegemony, said the United States lost all its credibility, ethics and reputation because of the bombing of Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab. “Because of the bombing and testing of a new weapon in Lamerd, it lost the world. Because of the bombing of a wedding ceremony, it destroyed its moral standing. Therefore, the United States has no hegemony today. The US has not lost just one war; it has lost a system. It has lost the emerging new world order, and today it is we who determine the new regional order, not the United States.”

He added that Iran had won the war and was now consolidating its victory and turning it into a permanent deterrent power. “But the United States wants to turn its defeat into a victory and has still not found a way to do so. I do not think it will be able to do that in the eyes of the world’s experts and informed observers.”

The IRGC spokesman said: “The war is continuing, and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has prepared itself for a long-term war. It had already been prepared, and it is now even better prepared for a prolonged conflict.”
