Iran exported more than 160 tons of saffron to several countries in the first 9 months of the current Iranian year
Iran exported more than 160 tons of saffron to several countries in the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2017 - December 21, 2017).
The export of saffron experienced over 33 percent growth in volume and 26 percent in value compared with the corresponding period of the year before, the official statistics said.
More than 160 tons of saffron worth $219 million were exported to 56 countries during the said period.
The main importers of Iranian saffron during the period were the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Spain, Afghanistan and China.
The other importers of Iranian saffron included Latvia, Austria, Jordan, Australia, Slovakia, South Africa, Algeria, Germany, Britain, the United States, Italy, Bahrain, Brazil, Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, Pakistan, Taiwan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, the Czech Republic, South Korea, Denmark, Japan, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Serbia, Iraq, Oman, France, Finland, the Philippines, Kyrgyzstan, Qatar, Canada, Kuwait, Georgia, Lebanon, Poland, Madagascar, Malta, Malaysia, Hungary, Morocco, Mauritius, Norway, New Zealand, Vietnam, the Netherlands, India, and Greece.
