Pars Today - The Indian ambassador to Tehran emphasized that the friendship between Iran and India is very strong, and anyone who comes to power in these two countries will support this friendship.

Rudra Gaurav Shresth responded to a question about the recent general elections in India and the upcoming presidential elections in Iran, saying that the friendship between Iran and India is so strong that anyone who comes to power in these two countries will support it.

According to Pars Today, Shresth added that all political parties in India are in favor of relations with Iran, and in Iran, the will of the authorities is to promote and expand relations between the two countries.

The Indian ambassador also spoke about the recent agreement between Iran and India to develop the Chabahar port, saying that about a month ago, a contract was signed between Iran and an Indian company to equip and operate the container and general cargo terminals of Shahid Beheshti port in Chabahar.

Shresth emphasized that the Chabahar port is very important for India, and according to this agreement, about $120 million has been invested in the port. He also mentioned India's $250 million investment in the transportation infrastructure of the Chabahar port, adding that the development and expansion of this port are also important for India.

The Chabahar port in southeastern Iran is of great importance to India due to its strategic location and proximity to the landlocked countries of Central Asia, such as Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan, providing them with access to the open waters.

Indian officials say that through the Chabahar port, India can easily connect with Central Asia and Afghanistan.
