Iran and Indonesia stress bolstering Islamic world media union against Western media propaganda
Pars Today- The Islamic Republic of Iran's cultural attaché in Indonesia said that cooperation of the Islamic World Media Union is among today's necessities in the world of Islam to confront distortion and tarnishing by the Western media.
According to the public relations of the Organization of Islamic Culture and Communications of Iran, the Iranian Ambassador to Indonesia, Mohammad Borujerdi, and the Iranian attaché to the country, Mohammad Reza Ebrahimi, met and talked with the Indonesian officials and members of the Council of Indonesian Cyber Media Union.
Borujerdi, in a speech, pointing to the Israeli crimes in Gaza, said "The Islamic Republic of Iran is the country which has stood against Israel and has given a firm response to the evil acts of this regime."
"Iran, through the firm response to Israel, communicated this message to the world that it will give a firm response to any aggression", said he.
In continuation of this visit, the two sides stressed the cooperation of the Islamic World Media Union as a necessity of current era with the aim of struggle against distortion enforced by the Western media.
Firdows, Head of the Indonesian Cyber Media Union, too, during this visit, briefed on the activities of this union, and said, "The Indonesian Cyber Media Union is an organization which controls the media. This union was set up on March 7, 2017 in Banten (Bantam). The Indonesian Cyber Media Union has been launched according to the concept that the freedom of press and media is essential for creating a democratic life order in a bid to materialize a just society."
Appreciating the Islamic Republic of Iran's response and attack to Israel, he added, "Iran was the country which stood against the invasion of Zionists and we support dear Iran with honor."
Ebrahimi, Iran's cultural attaché to Indonesia, also stressed during this visit, "News agencies and cyber networks in Iran are active with free publication of various contents. The Islamic world media have an important duty, i.e. not to be captivated and absorbed with distortion, tarnishing and lie-dissemination of the Western media."
He went on to say, "During the recent days, nearly 600 students and university professors have been detained and fired in defense of humanity and innocent people of Gaza. The strategy of Westerners, especially, that of the US has spared no effort to aid Israel.
Ms. Retno Intani, head of the International Cooperation Council of the Indonesian Cyber Media Union, also said, "There are opportunities for cooperation in various fields between the Indonesian and Iranian media, among which, mention can be made of exchange of knowledge and experience, news, technology, the process of film production, editing and abridgment."
