Respectful brothers and sisters! Work intended to serve people is a good deed rewarded by God/ Leader's message to new Majlis
Pars Today- Imam Khamenei, in a message on the occasion of the opening of the 12th round of the Iranian parliament (Majlis), considered the formation of an appropriate Majlis owing to disciplined and cooperative interaction with other branches of power and accurate and patient collective conduct inside the legislature, and stressed, "The Majlis should always be calming, hope-inspiring, arousing of efforts and inviting to cooperation and brotherhood in the public environment of the country."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution continued that attraction of people's hearts and their unflinching gratitude due to serving them and righteous deed will bring about divine reward and reiterated, "The multi-million funeral of the late president and his dear companions is an example of this divine reward."
The full text of Ayatollah Khamenei's message is as follows:
"In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
All praise belongs to the Lord of the worlds, and blessings of Allah upon our Master Mohammad Mostafa and his Spotless Progeny, especially Allah's Reserve in the earth [Imam Mahdi].
Now that the 12th round of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis) begins as usual in the due time and without delay, I prostrate humbly before Almighty and Wise God and thank for continuation and consolidation of religious popular rule which is a great divine gift to the Iranian nation. Every new Majlis can bring about a fresh brilliance in the clear horizon of the country and increase the nation's hope and motive. The combination of fresh representatives with the efficient and experienced ones gives this message that the House of Nation [Majlis], through benefiting from its constitutional authorities and abiding by its weighty responsibility among the pillars of the country, will be able to blend being updated and innovation with experience and calculation, and keep lawmaking and supervision away from turmoil and chaos and stagnation and stillness.
No doubt, disciplined and cooperative interaction with other powers and accurate and patient collective conduct inside the legislature will contribute to materialization of all features of an appropriate Majlis and will make the good name of the MPs everlasting. The point that I always stress is that the Majlis should be calming, hope-inspiring, arousing of efforts and inviting to cooperation and brotherhood in the public environment of the country. As for inside the Majlis, too, useless media contests and harmful political disputes should not consume the short time and life of responsibility; otherwise, the precious capacity of the representatives' presence in this lofty position will be wasted and this is a big loss. Another point is about the oath of representativeness. This oath is not ostentatious and ceremonial. It is a real and responsibility-inducing oath which will be troublesome both in this world and the Hereafter. The respectful representatives, during the whole period of representativeness, should inevitably keep in mind every bit of this religious oath and consider abiding by it as a criterion to judge on their performance.
Another point pertains to ethical obligations. The Islamic lifestyle, an important part of which is composed of ethical virtues, gains more importance in political challenges and legitimate rivalries. It is here that the gem of Godwariness, pardoning, fairness, honesty, responsibility and work without casting the favor in [people's teeth] will clarify their main price. Among the characteristics of the martyrs of flight of Ordibehesth (May 19), for whom the whole country is mournful, was observing of ethical virtues. Self-control in this field should be taken seriously. The last point is to remind this reality that each of the representatives is the representative of the entire Iranian nation. This means that the main job of the representative is to secure national interests. Pursuit of the constituency issues should be done within the framework of major look at the issues of the country, and the ratification of developmental bills in an excessive way and beyond the budget capacity should be avoided. Dear brothers and sisters! Work with the intention of serving the people is a righteous and good deed which will be rewarded by God. And God, the Thankful, the Knowing, will reward it in the world and the Hereafter. Attraction of people's hearts and their unflinching gratitude is among the divine rewards in the world and the multi-million funeral of the late president and his dear companions is an example of this divine reward. The loyal and vigilant people in different cities, through sprinkling of flowers and shedding tears on these pure corpses, revived the memory of martyrs in 1980s for the new generation of the country, and in practice, responded to thousands of lies, slanders and rumors. God's mercy and greeting on them!
In the end, I need to thank the respectful representatives of the 11th round, especially its hardworking speaker and active presiding board.
