  • Religious researcher: Qur'an is for making our lifestyle, so we shouldn't be content with merely reading it

Pars Today- A religious expert said, "The Qur'an is the most exact document of healthy and faithful lifestyle."

According to Pars Today, Hojjat-ol-Islam Mohammad Ali Mahdavi Rad, prominent researcher of the Qur'an and head of the Qur'an and Hadith Group of Tehran University Theology Faculty, has just addressed the role of the holy Qur'an in the modern life and has examined the ills of having a superficial look at this heavenly scripture.

Qur'an role in modern life

Hojjat-ol-Islam Mahdavi Rad considered the noble Qur'an as the most constructive, important and exact document for a healthy and faithful living and made it clear, "According to the ultimate and general prospect of the Qur'an, we can interact with this heavenly book in two ways which will be explicated exactly according to the status of the Qur'an in our life, mind and tongue." Mahdavi Rad added, "The first case [way] is the civilizational, scientific and intellectual closeness with the Qur'an; like a jurisprudent, theologian or philosopher who refers to the Qur'an and deduces his jurisprudential ideas from it. The second case [way] is the closeness to get and seek guidance which meets our needs in the field of practice, interaction and faithful living." He went on to say, "We believe that the Qur'an is the book of guidance and its language is the language of a guide. This means that the Qur'an takes the hands of all people in the course of life and guidance towards the peaks of cognizance, humanity, living and munificence."

Role of Qur'anic allegories in guidance of man

Mahdavi Rad, described the allegories of the Qur'an as very precise, constructive and directive teachings, and referring to the allegory of sending rain, said, "Just as the rain falls on the ground and every pit benefits from based on the size, the guidance of individuals is for all according to the Qur'anic teachings and the Qur'an has been sent down for all humans. But, everyone benefits from it based on their internal capacity." This expert of Islamic sciences, stressed that living with the Qur'an does not need a warehouse of knowledge, and reiterated, "To live with the Qur'an, it is enough to make the Arabic text of the Qur'an understandable to the language of destination. According to the Infallible Figures (Peace upon them), we should refer to the Qur'an and reflect on its verses. Many of us are close just with the appearance of the Qur'an, while the Qur'an has come to make and change our lifestyle."
