Arba’een night in Karbala
Oct 20, 2019 06:33 UTC
Mourning pilgrims gathered in the Iraqi holy city of Kerbala on the night before Arba’een to commemorate Imam Hussein (PBUH).
Arba’een, which is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, comes 40 days after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (PBUH), the third Shias’ Imam.
Each year, a huge crowd of people flock to the holy city of Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (PBUH) is located, to perform mourning rites.
