  • UNICEF: Number of malnourished children in Northern Gaza doubled

Pars Today - The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has reported that the number of children suffering from severe malnutrition in the northern Gaza Strip has doubled.

According to the UN body, in the past month, the number of children suffering from severe malnutrition in the northern Gaza Strip has doubled, adding that one in every three children under two years of age in the north of the Strip is suffering from severe malnutrition.

Catherine Russell, UNICEF's Executive Director, also stated that the spread of malnutrition in the Gaza Strip is shockingly fast, and the situation for children in the area is getting worse every day.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) also reported that malnutrition has spread unprecedentedly and rapidly among children in Gaza, casting a shadow of famine over the region.

Since October 2023, Israel, with full support from Western countries, has launched a widespread massacre in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank against the defenseless and oppressed people of Palestine.

According to the latest reports, the attacks by the Zionist regime on Gaza have so far resulted in more than 31,000 Palestinian martyred and over 72,000 others injured.

The regime of Israel was created in 1917 through British colonial scheme and by immigrating Jews from various countries to the land of the Palestine, and its existence was declared in 1948. Since then, various plans of mass murder for the genocide of Palestinians and the takeover of all their land have been carried out.
