Pars Today- An initiative was presented at the BRICS Media and Think Tank Forum in Brazil for media cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).

The BRICS initiative for cooperation and development of AI in media and think tanks was presented at the BRICS Media and Think Tank Forum which was just held in the Brazilian city of Rio do Janeiro with the participation of more than 250 representatives of various media and think tanks from 36 countries. According to Pars Today, quoting from TV BRICS, this initiative has called for free and just exchange of knowhow and technologies for exploitation of the AI potential in media production and research activities.

Fu Hua, Chairman the Chinese news agency, Xinhua, said, "We have held the BRICS Media Forum since 2015 and have received positive feedback constantly. During this period, we have had scientific cooperation including annual meetings, joint declarations and operational programs. We hold picture exhibitions, joint workshops and exchange visits all of which contribute to strengthening of cultural relations among BRICS member states and their people."

Daria Ivankova, Head of the International Cooperation of TV BRICS, also stressed the importance of expansion of media relations for building a coherent positive agenda and deepening of cultural exchange.

He said, "TV BRICS is proud of announcing its support for the Global South Joint Communication Partnership Program. We deeply appreciate our priorities and prospect being aligned with the priorities and prospect of our partners and eagerly wait for cooperation to bolster our collective capacity to shape a more just and prevalent global information climate."

Mohammad Mehdi Rahmati, CEO of Mehr media group from Iran and member of this media network, also, said, "The idea of TV BRICS has been concentrated on creation of cultural and human communication among BRICS members. Based on nearly two years of cooperation, I can say that this has contributed to improvement of production, fair content distribution and strengthening of unity in BRICS. I believe that the final statement of this forum should support such efforts and should call for follow-up and advancement through subordinate committees and future meetings."

The African representatives had also attended the forum. Ali Muhamad Ali, CEO of the Nigerian news agency (NAN) stated that gaining the title of BRICS partner has been remarkably effective in development of media sector in Nigeria. He explained that this title has helped Nigerian journalists gain access to educational programs, broader opportunities for content exchange and subjected them to advanced technologies in the field of media.

The CEO of NAN added, "The Nigerian participation at the BRICS Media and Think Tank Forum is very significant for upgrading the voice of Africa in the atmosphere of the global information."

Deputy Minister of Communication and Information of Venezuela, Yonnathan Rodriguez Rivero, offered a similar view on merger of BRICS and the Global South in the field of media. He reiterated that his country is creating strong bonds with the group and is developing close media relations with Russia and China.

He added, "It is fair to say that Venezuela has always been a part of BRICS. We said this last year and it was not a metaphor. We are really presenting specific measures and initiatives with the aim of bringing the BRICS member states and those of the Global South closer together."
