Why is U.S. trying to change historical realities in Palestine?
Pars Today – Seven U.S. states have decided to rename the "West Bank" to "Judea and Samaria."
According to Pars Today, seven U.S. states are passing legislation that would ban the use of the term "West Bank" in official state documents, mandating instead the use of "Judea and Samaria." This move is the result of efforts by Mike Huckabee, the U.S. ambassador to occupied Palestine, whose extremist stance violates international law by endorsing the occupiers' sovereignty over the West Bank. In 2015, Huckabee claimed that Israel’s claim to "Judea and Samaria" (the West Bank) was stronger than the United States’ claim to Manhattan.
Following Arkansas’s decision (a month and a half ago) to legally enforce the use of "Judea and Samaria" instead of "West Bank" in state documents, seven other U.S. states have joined the move. The agreement came after meetings between lawmakers from Utah, Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, Idaho, Iowa, and Oklahoma and Yossi Dagan, head of the West Bank Zionist Settlements Council, who has pushed this legislation as part of efforts to secure the Trump administration’s support for formal Israeli sovereignty over these territories.
This move is a direct continuation of a state bill introduced by the "Judea and Samaria" lobby in the U.S. Congress, spearheaded by Congresswoman Claudia Tenney alongside Dagan, which has already gained support from over 20 members of Congress. Brian Mast, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, recently stated that the committee would also exclusively adopt the term "Judea and Samaria."
This action clearly illustrates the influence of the Zionist lobby within the U.S. political structure, working to advance Zionist objectives. The lobby’s power in shaping U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East is undeniable and is widely regarded as the primary reason for America’s unwavering support for the Israeli regime.
Another key issue is the U.S. attempt to justify the Zionist regime’s territorial expansionism under the slogan "From the Nile to the Euphrates," while ignoring and denying historical realities—including the historical context of the term "West Bank"—in order to legitimize Israel’s efforts to fully annex the region to occupied Palestine.
