Pars Today – On Monday, ahead of nuclear negotiations in Istanbul, China’s deputy foreign minister emphasized the need to resume talks and guarantee Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear energy in a phone call with a French official.

Ma Zhaoxu, in a telephone conversation with Frédéric Mondoloni, Director-General for Political and Security Affairs at the French Foreign Ministry, called for an urgent resumption of talks to prevent further escalation and stressed that Iran’s right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes must be upheld.

Ma reiterated China’s willingness to play a positive and constructive role in this process.

His comments echoed those of Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun, who recently stated that Iran’s nuclear issue is directly linked to peace and security in West Asia and to the global non-proliferation regime.
