The second “Art of Persian Carpets” exhibition has opened at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Berlin, attended by a group of diplomats based in Germany and enthusiasts of Iranian culture and art.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, the exhibition opened on Thursday in cooperation with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Germany, the National Carpet Center of Iran, and a group of carpet traders and industry professionals in the country. It features a collection of Iranian handwoven carpets showcasing a variety of designs, patterns, and colors.

At the opening ceremony, Majid Nili, Iran’s ambassador to Germany, stressed the importance of introducing Iran’s art and cultural heritage through such events. He said, “Persian carpets are not merely a commercial product; they are an expression of Iran’s identity, history, and cultural heritage, as well as a symbol of beauty, patience, resilience, and hope. Throughout history, these qualities have enabled the Iranian nation to stand firm against bullying and excessive demands and overcome difficulties.”

Referring to the deep historical and civilizational roots of carpet weaving in Iran, he added, “Persian carpets are just one aspect of Iran’s ancient and rich civilization. It is astonishing that American warmongers dream of destroying such a civilization—a dream that history has repeatedly shown to be doomed to failure and that will be destined to fail in the future as well.”
