A dangerous agreement with Zionists; Jolani on the path to a new Camp David
Pars Today – A Palestinian analyst, pointing out that Al-Jolani, the ruler of Syria, is moving towards a dangerous agreement with the Zionists, stated: "Under his rule, Syria has become a guard for the Israeli regime and has stabbed a poisoned dagger into the heart of the Islamic Ummah, but the people of Syria will not remain silent in the face of this betrayal."
According to Pars Today, Abdul Bari Atwan, the editor-in-chief of Rai Al-Youm and a prominent Palestinian analyst, dedicated his latest editorial to the recent reports of direct contacts and negotiations between officials of the Jolani-led administration in Syria and the Zionist regime, under the pretext of security agreements.
He wrote: "Al-Jolani, the head of the Syrian government, recently met with a media delegation. Most of its members were representatives of media institutions and TV channels from Arab networks, especially those from the UAE and Saudi Arabia, along with Sami Abdul Latif Al-Nisf, the former Kuwaiti Minister of Information. This marks Jolani's first official appearance before media representatives."
Jolani's clear green light for compromise with the Zionists
Atwan added: "What seems notable about this meeting and the official photo that documented it was Jolani's emphasis on the advanced process of a security agreement between Syria and the Israeli regime, the foundations of which were laid during a recent meeting between Aseed Al-Sheibani, the foreign minister of the current Syrian administration, and Ron Dermer, the minister of strategic affairs of the occupying regime, last week."
This Palestinian analyst added: "Another point, which we consider to be the most important, is that in his dialogue with the media, Jolani did not rule out signing a comprehensive reconciliation agreement with the Zionist regime. He stated that if such an agreement is in the interest of Syria and the region, he would be prepared to sign it—without specifying what these interests for Syria or the region he speaks of are, or even what place the Palestinian cause and its sanctities hold in this matter."
The article continues: "In other words, Syria now stands on the threshold of a new Camp David agreement, albeit at a high speed, beginning with security agreements—agreements that appear to be far more dangerous than political accords. Ultimately, bilateral embassies will be established, and this will occur at the end of the tunnel of meetings that have been made public with U.S. support and the approval of Arab countries."
Details of Jolani's dangerous agreement with the Zionist occupiers
Atwan emphasized: "What matters to the Zionists in this is their own security, which has been undermined by the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance movements, as well as Yemeni missiles and drones. In his meeting with the media, Jolani only spoke in generalities regarding the terms of the security agreement with the occupying regime. However, Channel 12 of the Zionist regime's television network disclosed the main provisions of this agreement, which can be summarized as follows:"
A complete ceasefire on land, sea, and air
Guaranteeing the security of the Zionist regime and preventing any actions that threaten this regime by Syrian elements or other countries.
Preventing the rearmament of the Syrian army by Turkey and prohibiting the deployment of any strategic weapons, such as missiles and air defense systems, inside Syrian territory.
Establishing a humanitarian corridor between occupied Palestine and Suwayda in southern Syria under the pretext of supporting the Druze community and enabling them to move freely and without restrictions.
The complete demilitarization of southern Syria, namely Daraa, Quneitra, and Suwayda, especially the Golan Heights, to prevent any attacks on the borders of occupied Palestine.
Jolani becomes Israel's guard
According to this editorial, a brief look at these clauses—published by Hebrew media and disclosed by officials of this regime—confirms that it is not unlikely Jolani's administration will very soon establish a security normalization agreement with the occupying regime; an agreement that will completely protect this regime, with Syria playing the main role within this framework.
Atwan emphasized: "The normalization of relations with the Zionist occupying regime, whether political or security-related, is from our perspective—and that of millions of Arab and Islamic people and freedom-seeking individuals around the world—a great betrayal. The normalization of Syria's relations with the occupying regime, especially at a time when this regime is waging the most brutal war of genocide and starvation against our people in the Gaza Strip, and Syria's transformation into a guard for the Zionist regime, is a poisoned dagger in the heart of Arab identity and faith."
The Syrian people will not tolerate Jolani's betrayal
In conclusion, Abdul Bari Atwan emphasized: "We will certainly be on the opposing front against the new Syria under Jolani's rule. We reject this shocking and painful development and will stand against it. However, our solace lies in the fact that the great Syrian people, who have fought with courage and bravery in all wars, offered thousands of martyrs, and take pride in their cultural heritage of over 8,000 years, cannot remain silent in the face of this betrayal. They will return Syria to its rightful place at the forefront of the resistance against occupation and the liberation of all occupied Arab lands, especially al-Quds, the Golan Heights, and southern Lebanon."
